Registration Information For All Britelites SessionsBriteLites offers courses for development of career skills, avocational or recreational purposes. Payment can be made online with a credit card using PayPal (below), or by mail. If you choose to pay by mail, send either a $65 deposit or entire fee payable to Mona Lee at P.O. Box 50021, Austin, TX 78763. Refunds are made in compliance with the provisions of Section 132.003(a) (5), (6), (7) and (8) of Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code. A copy of the law is posted on the studio bulletin board and also available to students. Classes normally fill up in advance, so a deposit secures your space. If your check arrives after a course has been filled, it will be mailed back to you. If you pay only the deposit in advance, the balance of the fee is due the first session. In rare cases, other payment schedules may be made. BriteLites instructors are working actors and if they have a professional booking and have to miss a session, the missed session will be made up the following week. EXPLORER CLASS - on Monday nights
Taught by Mona Lee This basics class provides a foundation for developing a natural, believable style of acting for film. Participants work on four to five different scenes and monologues with one evening of improvisation. Believing every person is unique, Mona encourages actors to be true to their own "style" by assigning roles based on an individual’s natural qualities and skill level. Each character played is in the student's age range and type. Material used is selected from well known plays and screenplays. In addition to working with text, Mona uses special exercises to help actors relax and make their characters come alive. Meets: Mondays -7 sessions, 7 to 10 p.m. |

INTERMEDIATE ACTING
Taught by Mona Lee A natural progression from Mona’s beginning class, actors work on scenes and acting exercises designed to deepen their process and skill level. Students become more confident as they tackle and master more complex characters through scene work. Many actors like to repeat this class as a way of keeping their instruments tuned. Not a showcase class, but the last night class members may invite guests. Meets: Tuesday nights |

FILM ACTING - AUGUST 7, 2008
Taught by Mona Lee The goal of this class is for student actors to begin the process of learning how to work with the camera and understand it’s special needs while acting and crewing on different scenes shot around the studio. The class also features cold reading skills, do’s and don’ts of set etiquette, and critiquing sessions. Scenes are shot on digital video. Actors have fun doing a variety of action-adventure, drama, sitcom and romance scenes. Meets: 7 sessions, 6:30 p.m. 'til done. |

SUBPERSONALITIES
Taught by Mona Lee Within us is not just one personality but a whole crowd. In this class actors learn to isolate and identify their personalities and draw upon them when they perform. They explore Jungian archetypes and study the Enneagram, an ancient psychological system based on nine personality types, then apply the types by acting out monologues from their point of view. Excellent class for actors to learn more about themselves and stretch their acting range. Meets: Once weekly on Wednesdays for 7 sessions, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. or until done. |
